3. Lecture the importance of water to living organisms----- Water covalent bond, with hydrogen bonds which makes it polar to break down ionic materials, also has adhesive and cohesive properties and is able to absorb a large amount of heat

We will then focus on the other macrmolecules which make up a human------ carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids.------ With a focus on the purpose of each of these molecules and their structure---- At the end of class we will come up with hypothesis to test for pill bugs

Wednesday September 18---- Took quiz over Water then we looked at carbohydrates and took notes----- For homework Do questions 8-16 and color in the glucose molecules.
Thursday September 19----- Went over the homework---- then we took carbohydrates quiz---- We then go over proteins.
Friday September 20------- Week 3 quiz----- We then go over the type of macromolecules found in food.
Monday September 23----- Finish up our work with proteins----- We will then build models of proteins in class
Tuesday September 24--- Quiz over Carbo's then we worked on going over the structure of proteins
Wednesday September 25--- Watched Video over enzymes, dehydration, and hydrolysis---- Remember Dehydration occurs when water is given off and monomer from polymers. Hydrolysis occurs when Polymers are broken into monomers
Thursday September 26--- Quiz over Proteins---- Then we will do the cracker lab, to notice how crackers (Starch) are broken into glucose by the amylase in your saliva. We will then look at the enzyme Lactaid and how it breaks the lactose into milk into glucose and galactose. After this we will have a quick lecture on lipids and nucleic acids.

Wednesday October 2----- Assign the Cell project!!!!!!!! (Curriculum crater) We will then begin our drawing of a cell and labeling all the parts. This will be due on Monday
Thursday October 3------ We did the Microscope lab in the biology Book---- Looking at prepared slides versus a wet mount ---- PLANT VERSUS ANIMAL CELLS
Friday October 4------------ Quiz over the weeks material-------- We then finished up the questions over the microscope and I collected the plant and animal cells----------- We then took quick notes over the function of the organelles in a cell. WEEKLY QUIZ

Tuesday October 8-------- Quiz over organelles, we will then begin going over the transport of materials in and out of the cell with active and passive transport, we will use Curriculum Crafter and the worksheet over the difference between transport in cell. Lab Gummy Bears in distilled water and salt water, Also looked at onion cells under a microscope.
Weds October 9---------- Not in class at NBC 24 and quiz bowl------ Quiz over transport, then a worksheet over the cell organelles and active and passive transport
Thursday October 10------ Finish the lab up from Tuesday, Grade Wednesday's Quiz. Finish the curriculum crafter worksheet over the transport of materials in an out of the cell.
Friday October 11----- Lab the Semi permeable membrane, And seeing how iodine can cross though a bag into a corn starch mixture to turn the corn starch brown. There will be a focus on Hypertonic, and Hypotonic, and isotonic solution.
Monday October 14-------- Quiz over Cells and Cell function----- We will go over the word passive transport and active transport, We will then do a worksheet over hypertonic and hypotonic solutions diffusions and osmosis.
Tuesday October 15--------- Active Transport----- Focus on Endocytosis, Exocytosis, phagocytosis and pinocytosis
Wednesday October 16--------- Quiz over the type of transport, we will then continue going over active transport.
Thursday October 17------ Work on Surface Area versus Volume Lab---- We will take blocks in class and measure the Volume of them and the surface area of them.
Friday October 19-------- Quiz over the weekly material then we will will finish up the surface area versus the volume material.
Monday October 21----- Take a hands on quiz over the surface area versus the volume of an object, We will then Cut up a potato and see the amount of abosrption that occurs in a potato cell.

Huge introduction to genetics and the basis for genetics, including the history of Mendel, self pollination, cross pollination, stigma, anther, self pollination and cross pollination, P1 generation and F1 generation and F2 generation, Dominant and recessive factors, also Law of Segregation, and Law of indepenedent Assortment.
